Zac Efron Needs New Shoes!

Now only does Zac Efron need a new belt, it seems like he needs new shoes too!

The 20-year-old High School Musical star was spotted wearing quite the homely-looking pair of shoes while out in Beverly Hills on Monday. Calling Vanessa Hudgens! Zac needs a nice, new pair of kicks… and don’t forget the belt!

OK! reports that Zac recently got his hair cut and dyed: “He was getting his hair cut for a production,” one witness revealed. “And the producers were making him color it. Someone from the production was with Zac, guiding the stylists through it.” According to the witness, they even brought a color sample — a darker brown than fans are used to seeing on the young star’s adorable head — that they’re trying to match.”

Matthew Perry is Zac Efron… Really!

Matthew Perry will play a grown-up version of Zac Efron in the upcoming teen comedy 17, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

17 will be directed by Burr Steers and produced by Hairspray’s Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot. Leslie Mann will play Perry’s wife, reportedly named Scarlett.

The film follows a middle-age father who wakes up to find he’s 17 again. In order to be close to his children, he enrolls in the same school as them.

Production begins early December 2007. That’s next month!

Vanessa Hudgens Wants a Driver’s License for Christmas

The stars of the High School Musical franchise shared what’s on their wishlist this holiday season with USA Today. Here’s what they had to say:

VANESSA HUDGENS
On her wish list: “My driver’s license. I plan on taking my test really soon.”
A favorite holiday tradition: “Putting up the Christmas tree together as a family. I love doing themes. This year is going to be gold and crystal.”
Her hope for Gabriella in HSM3: “We’re all going to be seniors, so I hope she gets into a good college.”

ZAC EFRON
On his wish list: “I’m constantly breaking things, and I go through skateboards pretty fast. So a new Sector 9 Longboard would be nice.”
A favorite holiday tradition: “I always help pick out a natural, chopped-down-in-the-woods tree, so our whole house starts to smell like Christmas.”
His hope for Troy in HSM3: “To win another basketball game — maybe even nationals.”

ASHLEY TISDALE
On her wish list: “Christian Louboutin heels.”
A favorite holiday tradition: “My great-grandma has passed the tradition of Christmas cookies on to my grandma and my mom. The recipe is top secret.”
Her hope for Sharpay in HSM3: “To win prom queen. She didn’t get the musical in the first one. She didn’t get the guy in the sequel. She needs to be prom queen!”

LUCAS GRABEEL
On his wish list: “A package of guitar picks. I’m always losing them.”
A favorite holiday tradition: “I’m always in a different country for Christmas, so I’m always adapting to traditions abroad.”
His hope for Ryan in HSM3: “That he takes a break from dance steps. Maybe join the basketball team and shoot the winning goal. That would be fabulous.”

Staying cool in the summer heat, Hudgens shares her treat with boyfriend Efron before their appearance on Good Morning America. For the two, it’s been sweet all along. “I don’t know what it was with Vanessa,” Efron said, “but we kind of clicked from the very beginning.”

TV Hits: Zac Efron Interview!

Hey Guys, I picked up a Mag called TV HITS and they inteviewed Zac. Here is a bit of it. I’ll try and find scans….here’s what he said and I typed this up so if used anywhere else. Credit Me.

We couldn’t get him to spill the beans on his co-star, gf Vanessa Hudgens or about what he thinks of her latest ‘photoshoot’ but thats okay. We talk to Zac about the weather just to be in the same room as the Hollywood hottie!

TV Hits: HSM2 is a huge hit! What were you like with the girls in high school?

Zac: I was the short kid in high school. I didn’t get much attention from the chicks.

TV Hits: Oh Come on!

Zac: No, I was five foot six in high school. But as soon as I left and started working, the i started to grow up a bit.

Tv hits: So your making up for it now?

Zac: [Laughs] I’m trying!

Tv Hits: How do you Handle being a heartthrob?

Zac: It’s cool, What can I say? It’s not something I really have to deal with. If anything I feel, I will be an okay for a role model. I don’t really do much wrong. I’ve never been into the hollywood scene.

Tv Hits: And your not intending to?

Zac: I don’t find myself drawn into that scene.

Tv Hits: How old are you?

Zac: I’m 19 and I’m going to act accordingly.

Tv Hits: So what do you like to do?

Zac: If I get two consecutive days off, I go home to San Luis Obispo. I’ll play video games, go surfing, call my friends and see if they want to hang out, and play with my dogs. I’m just a regular dude. I always go home every chance I get. I love seeing my family and going surfing, just regular stuff. I don’t do sky diving on the weekends or anything like that.

Tv Hits: Are you reconized constantly? Do you have a gaggle of girls around you?

Zac: That’s the way I am going to say it from now on! I’m going to say “There’s a ‘gaggle of girls’.” [Laughs] No, they don’t follow me, I don’t think.

Tv Hits: Are you aware you’re being watched?

Zac: Maybe. It’s not the ‘gaggle of girls’, it’s the ‘gaggle of parents’. The parents are the ones who want the pictures. The girls are too shy, so it’s really sweet. I love to wave at them, it’s really funny. The parents are most excited. They’ll run up with their proffessional camera’s and take pictures. It’s fun. It’s a pleasure.

Tv Hits: Does it affect how you live your life?

Zac: No, you can go anywhere - you just have to make sure you have good sunglasses. [Laughs] People underestimate the value of good sunglasses. There’s no way I try and  avoid my fans. It’s fun to have them around. I like making them happy and seeing them in person - there’s no better way to do it.

Tv Hits:  Do you have any idea how big High School Musical would be?

Zac: No. Absolutly not. We flew to Utah and we made a Tv movie. I’m glad people liked it. It was a musical and I admire Disney for taking a risk. They hadn’t done it for a long time.

Tv Hits: How did you get into the busniess?

Zac: I was bad at sports because I was so small. One place where size didn’t matter was on stage. I could go out there and be as good as the next kid. I didn’t realize how valuable that was until my drama teacher asked if I wanted to meet her agency. I didn’t know what that meant, so I said sure. We drove three hours and I didn’t know what I was getting myself into. I met with an agency and they signed me. I can’t even recollect what happened after that - it was pretty cool.

Tv Hits: Having worked with John Travolta in Hairspray, if they were doing a remake of Grease, would you do it?

Zac:  If John was involved. Without his consent there’s no way I’d ever attempt it. It’s too hard! He’s too cool, man. He’s such a stud,

Zac and Vanessa Cash In on Zanessa

Show me the money! There have been various reports that Vanessa Hudgens might get booted from the big screen version of High School Musical 3 (otherwise known as HSM3) but those have been denied countless times. And it seems certain that Zac Efron, Vanessa and the whole cast will return for the big budget big screen sure fire hit.

In Touch Weekly s reporting that Zanessa fans can now rejoice! Not only will Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens be back playing Troy and Gabriella in HSM3, the real-life lovebirds will get huge pay raises to show for it.

The magazine reports that although Disney released a statement saying they’re “still in negotiations with the HSM cast,” Zac was spotted lunching with HSM director Kenny Ortega - and an insider tells In Touch that the casts’ deals are in place. “Zac will make $3.2 million for the sequel, while Vanessa will get $1.75 million,” says the insider.

Cashing in on Zanessa and their success is a good thing for them and their fans alike. The report does note that the stars’ sequel status had been up in the air after the aforementioned false reports that Vanessa’s nude photo scandal cost her the squeaky-clean role and Zac’s Hollywood star took off following his scene-stealing turn in Hairspray. Filming is scheduled to begin in February. - National Ledger

Zac Efron was named one of the 25 Top Stars of 2007 for Entertainment Weekly’s “Entertainers of the Year.” Check out a few of the Q&As:

If he could put a face to that career: ‘’Leonardo DiCaprio is someone whose career path I would love to emulate. The problem is there’s not enough scripts about giant boats sinking that are immersed in a love story. I can’t find that script. I’m thinking about writing Titanic 2. It would pick up right after where the last one left off.’’

Top items on his wish-fulfillment list are: ‘’Lately I love my iPhone. I’ve also got a new car that I’m really excited about: an Audi S6. I don’t think anyone in my family tree has ever earned a car this nice. I find myself driving for no reason at all these days.’’
