Melora Hardin Impressed With Zac Efron

“Zac has to be a real actor in this movie,” points out Melora, “not just a pretty face, a good dancer and singer.” Her acting coach/manager mom, Diane, is actually on set working with Zac, “which is really neat. She’s worked with people like Leonardo DiCaprio, Jessica Biel. … I was raving to Zac about her, and he said, ‘You know what? I’d like to call her.’

“Zac is a very talented and lovely person,” Hardin goes on. “It’s really heartening to see a young actor on the precipice of stardom — already a star but about to become a bigger one — who is determined to make the most of what they’ve got instead of throwing it all away by turning to drugs and alcohol as others have done. I’m happy for Zac in that he’s smart, and he has the kind of attitude where he will succeed,” she says.

Zac comments on Vanessa Hudgens as “Such a Sexy Woman”

Zac Efron usually keep very quiet on his girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens. But OK! Magazine quotes the young actor when they caught up with the teen dream couple earlier this month. The pair were spotted by the weekly entertainment magazine on the streets of Hollywood on Dec. 15, the day after Vanessa’s 19th birthday.

The very private Zac defended his gal. “The weird thing that no one expected about Vanessa is that underneath such a sweet girl… is a very sexy woman,” Zac, 20, has said of his girlfriend. Well, we all know that now, thanks to her earlier photo release.

Mike Walker has a Zac update as well and tells how he sneaks out of work when he wants to dodge the paparazzi. He writes in this wek’s national Enquirer, “Zac Efron ain’t just another pretty face – the teen-throb’s brainstormed a way-cool way to duck fans and photogs who mob him at the studio gates after work on his new flick “Seventeen”.

According to Walker, “Zac simply ducks down inside a studio van, gets driven to various streets nearby, then hops into cars left by his rental company – a different one every day – and drives home unnoticed.” -National Ledger

Zac Efron sports a strange (and laughable) hairpiece on the set of his new movie Seventeen in Santa Monica, Calif. on Thursday

Seventeen tells the story of a 36-year-old man, in need of a major life do-over, who wakes up in the body of studly high school senior Mike O’Donnell (Efron). Matthew Perry (Friends) plays the older version of O’Donnell. Michelle Trachtenberg (Buffy) and Melora Hardin (The Office) also star.

Zac + Mathew = 17

We caught Zac Efron and Mathew Perry on the set of ‘Seventeen’ today and I’m not sure if you guys have noticed, but that Zac is a pretty good looking fella. Zac flashed that Zacarific smile of his while he strolled around the set in his leather and shades while Mathew was buttoned down in his coat and tie. It was also Zac’s girlfriend Vanessa’s birthday today and she spent it shopping with her mother while Zac brought home the bacon. I wonder what a young guy like Zac, who’s got the world by the tail, gives his girlfriend for her birthday?

Zanessa Do Lunch

Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens spent some ‘Zanessa’ time together as the couple lunched at Patty’s in the Valley over the weekend. The couple took  advantage of a break in each others schedules to meet up for lunch where they likely discussed automobiles where later in the weekend, Vanessa picked up an Audi A6 convertible of her own. We’ll have pictures of that soon, so keep checking back.

Michelle Joins The Seventeen Set

The set of Seventeen is alive and well, busy filming again in Santa Monica this weekend. This time around we saw Michelle Trachtenberg on the set with Zac Efron. Michelle will play Matthew Perry’s daughter in the movie and she’s supposed to be crushing on Zac, who will play the young version of Matthew. Basically she’ll be crushing on her dad without knowing it. That will all make sense when you see the movie next year. Michelle is known to most Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans as Dawn Summers, but I also found out that she was in the popular ABC soap All My Children. Well, if she can share the cameras with Susan Lucci, then I guess she can hold her own with Zac and Matthew. Just go along with that comparison, please. But we do have more pics of Michelle and Zac on the Seventeen set, so enjoy it on a cold Monday morning.

PEOPLE: How are you?
Michelle Trachtenberg: I’m actually really tired because I’ve had like three 4:30 a.m. call times in a row and I have a 6 a.m. tomorrow.

How do you deal with that?
I don’t know, but it’s nice coming to work with Zac Efron. And a lot of cheek shimmer. I have an amazing makeup artist who I’ve worked with for years and comes to set, so… And working with Zac Efron and Matt Perry… not a bad day on set.

Zac Efron. He is adorable.
And you know what? He’s so not affected. He’s like the loveliest thing and doing a great job on the movie. We are all really proud of him.

Have you met Vanessa [Hudgens, his girlfriend]?
I have not met Vanessa yet. Actually,�œI talked to her on the phone because I was dying to go see the Spice Girls but I was on set and it was like 7 o’clock and I was like, ‘You don’t understand, the Spice Girls!’ And she was on her way, and she called and was like, ‘I’m on my way to the Spice Girls!’ I did make it, though�œI missed, like, three songs. But I made it.

So you’re a big fan?
Oh yeah! I got “Wannabe,” and “Spice Up Your Life.” Fabulous.
