Zac Steals the Spotlight in ‘17 Again’

Please, ladies. Don’t cry. Ever since we posted our latest Zac Efron “High School Musical” story, devoted fans of the hit TV flicks have been disconcerted over the news that the golden boy is hanging up his dancing shoes.

But wait! Adam Shankman, the producer/director/choreographer of “Hairspray,” has information of biblical proportions that should bring screaming 15-year-olds out of their broken-hearted depression. The king of musicals will shake his perfect little tush once more in the now-filming movie, “Seventeen Again.”

“We have some very funny scenes between him and Leslie Mann from ‘Knocked Up,’ which are off-the-charts funny,” Shankman gushed. “But there’s also this big thing with Zac dancing with a lot of cheerleaders that is very, very fun and funny.”

Add one part Zac Efron, with cheerleaders sprinkled liberally throughout, and you’ll likely get ecstatic Zac devotees swooning over the news that he’s not quite finished boogying down. As if that isn’t enough, another thing to watch for in “Seventeen” is Zac’s maturity being taken to another level.

“People are going to be so surprised how seriously great he is in this movie. I’m really proud,” beamed Shankman, producer of the film that also stars Matthew Perry, Michelle Trachtenberg and “Reno 911!” star Thomas Lennon. “This is about a man whose life has not gone the way he wants it to, so he wishes he was 17 again and he gets his wish. And then he’s realizing it’s nothing like he thought it would be. So it’s a reverse ‘Big.’ It has as many funny scenes in it as it does heartfelt scenes.”

“[Zac] has to carry this whole movie as a comedian,” he added. “But there are some very emotional scenes as well.”

Don’t get hung up on the mushy details though, because Shankman promises to deliver all you fanatical Zac addicts their fix.

“Let’s put it this way,” Shankman grinned. “I’m a dance historian, so you know the steps are going to be right on.” - MTV

Zac stirs attention

TEEN Hollywood heart-throb Zac Efron caused a stir in Douglas town centre at the weekend.

A police spokesman said officers were called to Castle Street on Saturday afternoon following reports of a group of people outside a commercial premises.

‘Their presence was thought to be linked to an actor involved in filming in the Island,’ the spokesman said.

‘No offences were committed and no police action was necessary.’

Zac, who starred in Disney’s High School Musical, is in the Island filming Me and Orson Welles.

Zac Hanging out

After a traditional English breakfast, Zac Efron poses with the owners of Copperfields restaurant and their baby on Monday. Copperfields is located in the capital town of Douglas, Isle of Man (the center of the British Isles).

After arriving at the restaurant, a gaggle of girls quickly spotted the teen heartthrob. Within minutes, the small group turned into a huge crowd waiting to catch a glimpse of the 20-year-old High School Musical star as he left.

The owners of the restaurant, Nick and Amy, called police and helped Zac exit safely out a side door.

Later in the evening, Zac was seen watching an English Premiere League soccer game with friends. His friends were overheard explaining the rules of the game to Zac.

American Idol fan: Zac Efron

High School Musical star Zac Efron has revealed he’s a huge fan of American Idol - because it deals with “regular people”.The actor, 20, spoke of his admiration for the little people - trying to make it big in world of showbiz. “[I like ‘American Idol’ because] it deals with regular people who really have a dream and like to perform,” he tells MTV. “I have such admiration for those guys — they go literally from zero to 60 in a matter of days and they handle it like champs … most of them.

“I couldn’t have done that: go to the peak of your fame within a month of starting, and to be able to handle that kind of pressure. I don’t envy them.”

And Efron - who’s dating his HSM co-star Vanessa Hudgens, is such a fan of the hit TV talent show - he used to go and watch it live. “There was a period where I was actually going to the shows of ‘American Idol’”, he says. “A few years ago, I went, like, almost every week.

“That was the season Taylor Hicks won. It was great — it’s a completely different experience live.

“You really get to see who is a good singer, and who can really captivate a crowd. And you can tell it’s really influential on the judges’ decisions.

“I tend to agree with Simon most of the time. But my favorite judge, just because I know her, is Paula — she’s a real sweetheart.

Zanessa Appear on Oprah!

Zanessa made a taped guest appearance on Oprah surprising three kids with props from High School Musical for their new bedrooms. The video is a segment from Oprah’s Building a Dream House show. The little kids look so happy, its cute.. I would be freaking out too hahah. Oh well.

Zac in LAX

Zac hopped a plane out of LAX today, I dont know where he was headed to, probably somewhere to finish “17 Again”.. I’m not sure. I love his outfit tho. Hes bomb.
