Zac Efron Meets Young Cancer Patient

Posted by Chrissy under Zac News

High School Musical fan Connor Steventon meets star Zac Efron as a special surprise for his birthday on March 1.

Sadly, Connor, 13, died on March 19 after a two-year battle with cancer. His memory will live on with plans to form a charity in his name.

Connor’s mom Tracy Mason shared a little about how Connor got to meet Zac: “About six weeks before his birthday I thought, ‘He is going to be 13, what can I do that’s really special?’ He had everything, didn’t want or need anything and was mad about High School Musical. When I saw on iomtoday (Isle of Man Today) that Zac was coming over I thought we have got to make that happen somehow. Before his birthday he had started to go downhill, sleeping a lot, and I thought we would have a High School Musical party and asked Zac to come and surprise him. [When Zac agreed to come,] Connor’s little eyes nearly fell out of his head.”

Seventeen Again

Posted by chel under Zac News

According to Kris De Leon (she got her information for MTV.com), Buddy TV Staff Columnist, Zac Efron’s new comedy, “Seventeen Again,” will be out August 15th. Efron plays a younger verse of Mike O’Donnell, played by Matthew Perry (Friends), who gets transfer back into his seventeen-year-old body. Now Zac has to play a 40-year-old in that body.

“The idea of going back to high school as an adult is incredible…until you actually get there! It’s like this crazy twilight zone of adolescent insecurities and people trying to grow up and figure out what they want to do with their lives. It’s crazy in the movie,” said Zac.

I am not sure if I would want to go back. If it was possible, and if I did, I would be afraid that it would change things for the worse.

To make it look real, Zac took in from his father’s perspective. “Everything you do, you have to kind of view it from your dad’s perspective,” Efron continues, “I tried to do a few things that I learned from my dad…things that he thinks are cool but are really dorky. That seems to be working pretty well,” said Efron.

Again, this film will be released out in the theaters on August 15th, 2008. It also stars Buffy’s little sister, Michelle Tractenberg, Leslie Mann and Sterling Knight. With that cast and story line, you can’t go wrong seeing this movie.

Zac Efron Quits HSM

Posted by Chrissy under Zac News

Movie hunk Zac Efron and his girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens have delivered a blow to Disney – they’re refusing to work on a sequel to the monster film hit High School Musical. The couple have chosen not to sign for the fourth instalment of the popular cheesy flick franchise.

However, it’s not all bad news as they will be starring in the third version of the movie, High School Musical 3: Senior Year, set for release later this year.

Fans were led to believe the movie would be the final episode but now Disney has revealed plans are well underway for another film, with a script already being penned.

Disney suit Rich Ross told MTV: “We are writing High School Musical 4. We have learned that just putting a number next to a title is a very old idea. We have to have a new story.”

All the stars of the original TV movie, including Zac Efron who plays Troy, Vanessa Hudgens starring as Gabriella and Ashley Tisdale in Sharpay’s role, have signed up for the third picture.

However Ross fears Disney might not be able to persuade the entire original cast to reprise their roles for a fourth time.

But Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens will pass on the 4th instalment of the Disney Channel franchise.

Who Is Crushing on Zac?

Posted by chel under Zac News

According to Ok Magazine, www.okmagaizne.com, Lauren Conrad, 22, from The Hills, has a crush on High School Musical star Zac Efron. “He’s my crush right now,” Conrad commented. Now how many girls have said or are saying this every day.

Last time I heard, Zac Efron has a girl friend, Vanessa Hudgens, who is also a cast-mate on all three, High School Musicals. I was thinking Vanessa would not be too happy about this. I sure know I would not be.

But do not worry Vanessa, Lauren Conrad, she says that Zac is her “crush right now.” I wonder if Zac knows how many girls out there who have a crush on him?

Will The Original Cast Be Ruturning in HSM4

Posted by chel under Zac News

According to Now Magazine, Zac Efron and other original cast members may not be returning for HSM4, ‘We have to have a new story,’ Rich Ross of Disney Channel Worldwide tells the Daily Star. ‘Will we have all the cast back? Probably not, but we hope to have some [of them].’
Efon will have two movies coming out. They are “Seventeen Again” and “Me and Orson Welles, ” which I have posted earlier.

High School Musical 4 In The Offing

Posted by Chrissy under Zac News

Though High School Musical 3: Senior Year has yet to make its jazz-handsy way onto cinema screens, the Disney Channel has announced plans for a High School Musical 4.

There’s no word on whether the original cast will be back, since most would presumably be off to college/dance school/re-hab after their senior year, but Variety says that some characters who are introduced in the third film may well be pushed to the fore in the fourth. We’d be surprised if Zac Efron came back, since he’s making good in-roads into an actual adult acting career, particularly with Richard Linklater’s Orson Welles and Me.

Also no word on whether this will be big or small screen, but early suggestions are that it will stay on TV.

ORLANDO BLOOM has landed another lucrative trilogy.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star has landed the lead role in Disney’s Prince of Persia in a deal worth a reported £20 million ($40 million).

The 31-year-old Brit beat ZAC EFRON and real life Prince DAVID K. ZANDI, who campaigned for the role by circulating a poll among movie goers which appeared to place him as audience favourite.

The new films, produced by JERRY BRUCKHEIMER and based on the hit computer game Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, will be the third hit trilogy for Bloom, who also starred in the Lord of the Rings movies.

Edit: Walt Disney denied these rumors. So lets hope Zac has a chance for it!
